\n It is still legal to fire someone in 38 states for being transgender, and in 29 states because of someone's sexual orientation. In this day and age, there's no excuse for this kind of inequity. It's simply unacceptable. Basic employment protections for transgender people provide a crucial foundation for dignified, economically secure lives. Employment should be based on one\u2019s skills and ability to perform a job. No one deserves to be unemployed or fired because of their gender identity or expression.
